Sep 01, 2007: It was mentioned to me by a friend that this page is *way* out of date, so I guess it's time to correct that. My last update was almost two years ago and the most recent accomplishment was my Perfect Pac-Man game in July 2005. In September 2005, I attended a special event at Funspot which was a reunion of the famous 1982 Life Magazine contest which featured the top players of that era. In addition to meeting several of the stars from the past, I was also able to submit a maxed out score of 999,999 on Lode Runner to tie the world record. After this, I started to practice up on a game that I had wanted to improve on. For the next few months, I would play this particular title on both MAME and at Funspot and my scores continued to improve. In early 2006, I ended up purchasing the game so that I could play more at home and that eventually resulted in my next record. The game, of course, was Joust! My next record came in September 2006. My friend Shawn Cram used his rom burner to produce a set of 3-minute Centipede roms for me and I had put them in my spare Centipede PCB. I had played it a few times and had some decent scores, but one day when I had Dave Nelson and Jason Cram visiting my house, I ended up scoring my personal best of just over 59K! This eclipsed the high score that was achieved in the Centipede world championships back in 1981, reported to be just over 55K by Eric Ginner. Next up was a completely unforeseen improvement on one of my own record scores. With some friendly competition/persuasion from Robert Mruczek during his annual November visit to Funspot, I pushed my Super Cobra world record up to almost 250K! My most recent record came less than a month after the annual Funspot tournament on one of the new games that they had brought out during the tournament, Q*bert's Qubes.

Since it is getting harder to find old classic arcade games out in "the wild" to be able to pursue more world records, the next best thing is to play on an emulator like MAME. Currently, MAME records are tracked separately from the actual arcade records, and there are several good reasons for this.

Using the Twin Galaxies approved version of MAME, I currently hold several additional World Records as verified by Twin Galaxies. Some of these are listed below in alphabetical order.

Centipede 715,201
Crazy Balloon 466,920
Dig Dug 4,011,700
Domino Man 1,654,832
